EDUCATION MATTERS: ASPIRANTE WINS A FREE LAPTOP

The National Society of Hispanic MBA's (NSHMBA) recently awarded 18-year old Kevin Chaparro, of Bulkeley High School, with a Toshiba laptop. The personal computer was awarded by the organization at the Quest Conference, at Southern State University, on November 15. Throughout the daylong conference, students, from all the ASPIRA's seven high school programs, were awarded raffle tickets based on their participation at events during the conference. The Bulkeley senior said:

" It was a complete shock, I was surprised and happy. To me I was just going to participate in a conference... I never thought I would win a laptop".
It is ASPIRA’s hope that by providing, even if just one, student access to technology, they can continue to assist Hispanic/Latino youth to accomplish and achieve academic success. ASPIRA salutes the maturity and leadership each of our ASPIRANTE student at the conference. Although only one ticket was picked, there were many winners at the end of the night.
